With the gradual easing of Covid-19 controls across Asia, destinations are once again reaching out to the markets for MICE businesses. MEET Taiwan organised the ‘Taiwan Incentive Talk: Taiwan MICE Roadmap’ on 25 August 2022 at the Hilton Singapore. More than 60 Singapore-based event planners and travel agents met with Taiwan government representatives and industry stakeholders. During the event, Taiwanese government representatives reiterated their aim to attract meetings, conferences and incentives back to Taiwan, and highlighted support measures. Companies and event organizers can look forward to incentives such as site inspection subsidies, visa applications assistance, and welcome kits.
Millie Sze, outbound manager, Ace Tours & Travel, shared: “The event was good because it allowed us to catch up with sellers, and learn what is coming up in Taiwan. After two years, it’s good to obtain updates.” Several Taiwanese DMCs, PEOs, and PCOs were also present at the event. They shared about the addition of new conference and exhibition venues like ICC Tainan and Taipei Music Center, as well as recommended several post-event programmes and activities in locations such as Hualian and Taitung to the more than 60 Singapore-based event planners and travel agents present.
