MEET Taiwan organised the ‘Taiwan Incentive Talk: Taiwan MICE Roadmap’ on 25 August 2022 at the Hilton Singapore. More than 60 Singapore-based event planners and travel agents met with Taiwan government representatives and industry stakeholders.

As September approaches, IT&CM Asia and CTW Asia-Pacific 2022 is preparing to return to Bangkok, Thailand for its first hybrid event with the aim of creating meaningful business, networking and learning opportunities.

Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau's (TCEB) MICE Winnovation” programme wins UFI Marketing Award 2022 for “Best marketing strategy in a changing exhibition industry”. The award recognises the programme’s timeliness, originality, and impact on the exhibition industry. MICE Winnovation is a collaboration between TCEB and 6 partners: National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), National Innovation Agency (NIA), Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), Thai Exhibition Association (TEA), Thailand Incentive and Convention Association (TICA) and Thailand International Events & Festivals Trade Association (TIEFA). Over the past two years, ‘MICE Winnovation’ has proven to be a marketing booster for the industry.
To help boost recovery of the Hong Kong’s MICE industry amidst these uncertain times, ILEA - the International Live Events Association Asia Chapter, MIX Meetings – Asia’s Creative Meetings Magazine, and TKS – the organizer of ITE, join forces to hold the DOMESTIC MICE Corner at the coming ITE Hong Kong 2022, which is the city’s only travel fair covering both leisure and MICE travel. On display in the Corner would be displays of various MICE events from different event companies which have been held locally and preferably during the pandemic years.
Following Singapore's reopening to fully-vaccinated visitors with no quarantine and testing requirements, the city's MICE industry is set on a path of strong recovery. With a strong pipeline of events in 2022 and beyond, a full recovery for the MICE industry is expected in two to three years. Event organizers should take advantage of Singapore Tourism Board's (STB) enhanced incentive programme for international MICE groups.
After running as online event during the two years' of Covid-19 pandemic, IT&CM Asia and CTW Asia-Pacific 2022 is returning to Bangkok, Thailand, in hybrid format from 20 to 22 September 2022, and set to go virtual from 20 to 28 September 2022. This will bring back the long awaited face-to-face business meets, engaging opportunities and more at the in-person event, with added knowledge and networking access exclusively during the virtual networking event. “This year’s show aims to deliver a brand new format like never before, differentiating IT&CM Asia and CTW Asia-Pacific 2022 hybrid from any other experience as our industry continues to evolve to stay versatile.” Amid strong buyer interest, Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) and 14 Thai MICE suppliers chalked up a total of 84 leads worth an estimated 1,873.6 million baht (USD53 million) and 28,388 MICE visitors over the three days of the first face-to-face IMEX Frankfurt since 2020.
The suppliers – five Destination Management Companies (DMCs), eight hotels, and one MICE venue – joined the show this year. Some noted that buyers were particularly decisive about their programmes and hotel requirements. The interested groups ranged from Singapore, United Kingdom, Germany to USA. Some were able to confirm their plans in Thailand during the show, which included events with more than 1,000 participants. The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) has chosen Bangkok as the host city of its annual general meeting next year. The 62nd ICCA Congress will be held from November 12-15, 2023. A major event in the global MICE calendar, the ICCA Congress is attended by members who represent more than 1,000 private and public organisations from over 100 countries.
